THIS EVENING'S TAG MEETING

The virtual meeting starts at 6:30 pm. and can be watched and listened to simply by e-mailing Lisa Schafer at lschaefer@woolwich.ca . Unfortunately Woolwich Township refuse to allow local citizens and residents impacted by the gross pollution at the former Uniroyal Chemical to either ask questions or make comments at these so called public meetings. Even formal verbal Delegations are refused hence intentionally eliminating informed and experienced citizens such as myself and other CPAC (Citizens Public Advisory Committee) members. Afterall Uniroyal/Lanxess have feelings too and none of the partners-in-pollution want to ever offend them or their corrupt "regulator", the Ontario Ministry of Environment (MECP). ................................................................................................................................ TAG (Technical Advisory Group) clearly are under strict orders never to respond to any written Delegations that are sent them by citizens. That is shameful on several fronts. Firstly if TAG were so allowed they could ask questions either of clarification or for any potential new data and information that they TAG have not received from their masters (mayor Sandy & TAG Chair Tiffany). Secondly TAG could help inform the public by advising citizens, either verbally by phone or in writing by e-mail, when those citizens have either made an error in fact or simply are in the dark as to what is currently going on. NOPE - way too dangerous letting the chosen few intermingle with the riff raff apparently. ................................................................................................................................. I sent TAG members the four incredible DNAPL (dense non aqueous phase liquids) reports last week, written by Wilf Ruland private hydrogeologist and Jaimie Connolly MOE hydrogeologist. Naturally not so much as a peep of thanks from the individual members (i.e. zero of them) and I only got a thank you from the TAG Chair Tiffany after I went fishing for it. Unbelieveable. And Woolwich Township wonder why they are held in such low esteem from volunteers who have literally for decades worked for free on behalf of the community. Ungrateful bastards. ........................................................................................................... Finally those four reports are not on tonite's Agenda. Of course they aren't. They are far too critical of the efforts and lack of effort of Uniroyal/Chemtura and now Lanxess to remove DNAPLS from the sub-surface both on and off the former Uniroyal site. They also must be an embarassment to the Ontario MOE/MECP who also have fallen on their faces with their pathetic, mickey mouse, futile attempts to properly handle the DNAPL problem at Uniroyal/Lanxess. So lets just not put them on the Agenda ever and continue to falsely pretend that they are no longer an issue relevant to groundwater, surface water contamination as well as to the ongoing Risk Assessment of the Canagagigue Creek.
