HAWK RIDGE HOMES BACK AGAIN - TO MAKE MONEY WHILE JEOPARDIZING THE HEALTH & LIVES OF CHILDREN

ISN'T CANADA GRAND? WHERE ELSE CAN YOU SO BLATANTLY PUT PROFITS AHEAD OF PEOPLE? ................................................................................................................... Lots of people have died in Elmira, Ontario. Many from natural causes and likely just as many were "assisted" on their journey by the likes of Uniroyal Chemical/Crompton/Chemtura and Lanxess. Yes there have been many other dirty polluters in Elmira including Nutrite, Pro Cast, Varnicolor Chemical, Sulco, Borg, textile industries and other local manufacturers. Yes and MORE! .................................................................................................... I received notice of a Case Management Conference (CMC) by the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT). The OLT are the replacement for the poorly thought of OMB or Ontario Municipal Board who had such an enviable record (for developers) and others in favour of making money either on the backs of less well off citizens or by trampling the enjoyment of their residential property which in some instances may have been owned and lived in for more than half a century. Such are the "protections" afforded by our politicians and authorities to every day, honest citizens simply trying to live their lives. .............................................................................................................. The virtual CMC will be held on February 8, 2022 at 10 am. It is being held at https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/914098901 . It is a very lengthy Document chock full of rules, terms, conditions such as would choke a horse. The meeting (CMC) is ostensibly for the purpose of determining things like who will be the parties to the hearing, who will be participants, identification of issues, start date of the hearing, hearing of Motions etc. etc. There will also be the possibility of settlement and or mediation on any or all of the issues. ........................................................................................................ Apparently Hawk Ridge Homes are unhappy with both the Region of Waterloo and with Woolwich Township. Woolwich supposedly refused Hawk Ridge's Application for a Zone Change to permit the construction of detached and semi-detached homes in the former apple orchard beside Union St. in Elmira and directly across the road from Uniroyal/Lanxess and Sulco (CCC).The Region of Waterloo are alleged to have failed to make a decision regarding the Proposed Plan of Subdivision. Much ado has been made of peripheral issues including air emissions/odours as well as middle of the night noise from shunting trains on both the Lanxess and Sulco (CCC) properties. For me and other citizens the real issues are life and death. Air emissions and odours are NOT synonomous when we are discussing chemical companies. My concerns are more with Uniroyal/Lanxess than with Sulco (Canada Colours). Uni/Lanxess have and likely continue to have highly toxic compounds on site despite the alleged removal of anhydrous ammonia a few years back. Iso-cyanates, solvents, dioxins and so much more are still on a site with a long and glorious history of spills, fires and explosions. ................................................................................................................................... What an incredibly selfish and stupid idea to put families in harms way and as close as possible to a long and proven irresponsible chemical company so that a developer can make money from those simply trying to put a roof over their heads.
