FLUSH THE TOILET, BRANTFORD NEEDS THE WATER
I can remember as a kid hearing this comment when I lived in Waterloo and not understanding it. Adults around me laughed and said it was a joke. Years later when I began to get a glimmer of understanding as to how our wastewater, surface water and drinking water were all intertwined I began to understand. Like most jokes there is an element of truth or at least the perception of truth in the joke to make it "funny". A recent comment here in the Advocate (Nov. 5/11) mentions the extremely high rates of cancer and other health issues in Brantford. If these statistics are correct it isn't that surprising. Brantford's drinking water comes from the Grand River and while today's testing and treatment have improved, it's certainly not without weaknesses. In the past companies like Canadian General Tower which are located at the south end of Cambridge, right on the river, donated chemicals such as pthalates and worse to Brantford's source of water. The time may come when radical environmentalism and or violence results from peoples' understanding how their lives and health have been damaged for the sake of someone else's profits. Although I will have no part of that, I will have no qualms about providing facts and data. The guilty parties should be punished by the courts and rule of law but when those institutions are not up to the task, that is when vigilanteism breaks out.

Most people like crab, lobster,or even catfish. By being bottom feeders and you are eating this food you are eating the garbage that falls to the floor. Good to eat or not they contain toxins, and waste from the waters bottom. There is little we can do to stop the pollution of our food from the water. Eating the packaged food from China "fish from the ponds" that they grow them in is also bad news. To be able to punish these people is far out of our reach. There are ways however to effect these type of people or company big boys that few are aware of. They themselves can be getting very sick. They have a price to pay for the way profit has moulded their lifestyle. Coming to a theater near you will be a number of people that will be put under the gun for harming our children and families. Take note of certain people of standing in the community and just outside, that are soon to run into "issues" l shall call them. Personal issues. Tick, Tock.
ReplyDeleteMr. Marshall - the title of your post is offensive to anyone living within our watershed. I would respectfully ask that, in respect for the people of Brantford and for the Six Nations Community that you remove this immediately. I kindly thank you for your consideration of my request.

Firstly I live within the watershed and am not offended by the title. Secondly I have respect, thank you very much, for the Six Nations Community as well as Brantford. Thirdly who appointed you spokesperson for them? You live here in Elmira .
ReplyDeleteJP i thought your post was reasonable and this was the reply:

Says it all about Al Marshall. an F-You stance to anyone who does not agree with him. Re-read the post Allan! it was very polite unlike your response. you have and continue to offend people.
Dear "JP" and "Anonymous". Yes "JP"'s post was very polite. He used the words "respectfully, kindly thank you etc." That being said am I not permitted to disagree? He "respectfully" asked me to remove my post. I declined. One of the issues around anonymous posts is the ability of one commenter with a chip on their shoulder to pretend to be someone else and then come back and agree with themselves in the next post. Just saying. Keep a careful eye on these comments. Also I might add a person with a chip on their shoulder over a big issue often will not discuss that but instead will find frivolous fault wherever they can on minor issues.
