Time as always will tell. Yes Lanxess and the MECP and all their political allies will bulls*it and bafflegab as many of the public as possible into believing that all was done that could possibly be done but gee that NDMA is just so tough. Of course that begs the question as to why the chlorobenzene concentrations also haven't been reduced to drinking water standards. Never fear our infallible "men in suits" can come up with self-serving answers to almost anything.
The Ministry of Expanded Corporate Pollution oops Min. of Environment, Consternation & Parks (MECP) are in the process of writing a new psuedo Control Order or whatever flavour of the month name they will christen it with. Rest assured it will not start as follows: "Based upon our efforts combined with our corporate polluters' best efforts being woefully inadequate over the last thirty-five years in Elmira we have decided to rewrite this Control Order being careful this time not to hint or suggest that there is any legal or binding language that could remotely, adversely affect corporate health and well being in any way. In regards to our already prematurely deceased Woolwich citizens as a result of industrial, chemical induced environmental cancers we can only suggest that they have been martyrs for the cause of corporate shareholders' benefits and financially improved retirements. You too can wisely invest your money in our shares with full confidence that your governments will never impede profits or share values simply to protect the health of either the environment or any of its' inhabitants, especially your loved ones."
