NESTLE'S WAS A PROBLEM NOW BLUE TRITON'S THE PROBLEM

The article in today's Waterloo Region Record is titled "Blue Triton keeps Nestle's water-taking permits". Here is the link : https://www.therecord.com/news/waterloo-region/2021/11/17/blue-triton-keeps-nestls-water-taking-permits.html The Record's current environmental reporter, Leah Gerber, has updated the public in this article and it should come as no surprise that the Ministry of Environment (MECP) have yet again misinformed the public. The MECP (via the Environmental Registry) claim that there were no concerns brought forward by Indigenous communities which Ms. Gerber clearly shows in her article is false. ............................................................................................................. Opponents (local & otherwise) to this permit renewal by Triton suggest that Blue Triton should have been forced by the MECP to apply for new more stringent water permits rather than be allowed to simply acquire Nestle's old, less stringent ones. Ahh our Progressive Conservative government love to take with one hand in the name of the public interest while quietly giving right back to industry while ignoring the public interest. Oh and by the way I would love to get my hands on a copy of the so called "studies" undertaken by the MECP that stated that water-taking for bottling did not adversely impact the environment or other users of the aquifer. We now have an entire industry of consultants in all things environmental who will write the most asinine of opinions and disguise them as science and fact. If you've got the coin you simply buy the opinion you want from credentialed experts.
