You don't restrict membership to public consultation bodies to only cheerleaders and professional colleagues otherwise. You don't weed out through lying and manipulation the very best informed citizen(s) who can articulate their concerns and doubts clearly and using scientific data provided by both the polluter/proponent and others. Finally you don't refuse to let concerned citizens ask questions. It used to be called "Public Forum" at past CPAC meetings and the likes of Susan Bryant and possibly dubious others were nevertheless allowed to speak.
All the guilty parties are terrified of an almost 76 year old man with typical health problems for his age. They are terrified that their self-serving narrative will fall apart. Their nonsensical claims may spring a leak publicly and their credibility wash away. They are tongue tied despite ongoing years of public propaganda, psuedo science and absolutely ridiculous and flimsy puffery inflating their failed actions trying to turn a rotting pile of toxic waste into a bed of roses.
They have the media somewhat enthralled. As an optimist I have not irrevocably given up on either the Woolwich Observer or the K-W Record. They like most print media have faced incredible challenges and should be given credit for their resilience even if it has required serious reporting cutbacks and the ability to devote the time and manpower necessary for difficult issues such as the never ending Elmira Water Crisis.
They have all the local politicians rapped around their fingers. Deals were done, bent and broken or reinterpreted by mealy mouthed polluters as they felt necessary. Our compromised and corrupt Ministry of Environment have buried their heads in the sand while going through the motions of actually "regulating" the environmental behaviour of Uniroyal Chemical and subsequent owners of the Elmira site.
Local citizens have lost interest after 36 years of talk, delay, talk, delay, talk, delay...you may see a pattern here. The Elmira "cleanup" is a straw man being pushed by the fourth chemical company, Lanxess Canada, simply to continue to allow the site to continue to leak and migrate off-site for at least the next thirty-six years or likely much longer.
EVERYBODY IS ON THEIR SIDE YET THEY ARE AFRAID TO PUBLICLY TALK TO ME !
I guess they are just a pack of gutless wonders.
They are ALL afraid of all the FACTS that THE TRUTH will reveal point to any Nexis of NEGLIGENCE and their individual liabilities accordingly. These fools are either biased and are corrupt or have been corrupted however they all are facing THE TRUTH which has MORE POWER than all of them put together! Their problem is Mr. Marshall and those like him who are on the side of THE TRUTH! and GENUINE JUSTICE!
