Children are dying of malnutrition and starvation in Gaza. When they or their caregivers venture out to obtain food from intermittent aid deliveries they are sometimes shot and sometimes bombed. Apparently those with the guns and bombs can not tell the difference between a package of flour or rice versus an AK47 rifle, a tank or other offensive weapons.
Meanwhile in the Ukraine Russia continues bombing residential areas, infrastructure sites (power & water) and killing civilians daily for the last three years now.
Weren't these the exact scenarios that the United Nations was supposed to step up and put an end to? I understand that the biggest U.N. funding comes from the U.S. and maybe a couple of other veto holding states (China, Russia etc.) . The whole idea of a veto really was a stinker from the start and has been used and abused by all the holders of said vetoes. Is it necessary to dismantle and start from scratch some sort of world body perhaps oddly enough based upon numbers and population versus say size of economy, number of available nukes etc.? I guess both China and India would welcome those kinds of changes and the U.S. and Russia not so much.
Something needs to be done to shut down these abominations taking place in 2025. Does anyone, anywhere actually see some advantage to the public (world) interest in having civilians (men, women, children) starving and maimed not through accident but by intent? Frankly this is why I have very little optimism for the long term future of mankind on this planet. We still don't understand that being victimized by those stronger both comes around and goes around if it is not stopped with speed and firmness. If as I believe the vast majority of people in the world are inherently good then they need to step up and oppose the much fewer who are not.
