The higher dioxin/furan concentration (BC) is from a composite sample. i.e. four separate soil samples namely location B at six-9 inches, location B at 12-18 inches, location C at six-9 inches and location C at 12-15 inches. 4.06 parts per trillion is the average of four separate soil samples which with a little mathematical work indicates the very great likelihood that at least one (possibly 2) of the soil samples exceeded the 7 parts per trillion (ppt) soil criteria. There are thirteen still outstanding soil samples awaiting analysis. What do you think the odds are that several of those may exceed the dioxin/furan criteria by a very substantial amount?
