"Gorgeous George": i.e. George Karlos of the Ontario Ministry of Environment. Funny thing but he never reappeared at CPAC meetings after advising us all, in answer to a question about what looked like a pathway for surface flows, that he had personally walked Chemtura's south-east corner looking for any routes for surface waste waters off their site. He claimed that there were absolutely none . Shortly afterwards I walked the south -east corner looking for viewing/shooting locations for a CBC affiliated Documentary. I of course nearly fell over in shock when I discovered the Stroh Ditch, Drain & Berm (SDDB).
The SDDB is barely ten metres away from and running parallel to the Uniroyal property line . The north to south Drain maintains this ten metre distance from Uniroyal for a stretch of about 125 metres before the Drain turns south - eastwards and continues through the Stroh and then the further south, Martin farms. Neither the MOE/MECP nor George himself did their reputations or credibility much good after his ridiculous claims of no off-site routes for liquid wastes. By the way this surface drain however is deep enough to intercept the polluted shallow groundwater on the Uniroyal site and draw it as well as surface waste waters from overflowing waste pits and ponds onto both the Stroh and Martin farms.
As compared to all the errors and omissions and junk science utilized for plausible deniability... the "SDDB" is the absolute smoking gun that firmly establishes by current existing and very visual methods the "Mens Rea" which binds the guilty parties together in both the acts committed AND their guilty minds. At the center of a big corruption- conspiracy is always a NEXIS of facts AND motives that are if known and established, damning and so it is obvious that the guilty are petrified of what the "SDDB" indicates on the public records. Only desperate and or unwise people would even attempt to deny the truth! Burying the truth will take it to a whole "new level" in this case!
